A clinical study is a type of research used by doctors and researchers to find out whether a medicine is safe and works well in people with a particular medical condition. It offers researchers the chance to explore whether a medicine has any side effects and if it works better than the care a patient would
normally receive for their condition.
What Clinical Studies is Allergy & Clinical Immunology and Associates Currently Conducting?
Asthma Study
A Clinical Research Opportunity for Adults with Uncontrolled Asthma. Asthma is a common and chronic disease with no cure. For some people, current treatments such as different inhalers, may no longer result in control of their symptoms. As such, alternative treatment options are needed. The FLASH Study is looking for participants who have moderate-to-severe asthma that is uncontrolled with their current treatment alone to evaluate the safety and of an oral once daily investigational drug taken in addition to their current asthma regimen.
Chronic Spontaneous Urticaria
Taking part in this study will help researchers learn more about Chronic Spontaneous Urticaria (CSU) and to see if the study drug is safe and effective in treating patients suffering from CSU despite treatment with H1-antihistamines.
Inadequately Controlled Asthma
The KALOS study is for people with asthma whose symptoms are not fully controlled using their current inhaler treatment. The study will see whether a new type of inhaler called BGF MDI may provide benefit to people with this type of asthma. The study will also be used to help better understand asthma and other commonly linked conditions.
LPS Asthma Study
This is a clinical research study being conducted by respiratory disease doctors to determine if the study medication can demonstrate prevention or slowing of loss of lung function over a period of 3- years compared to standard of care therapy. The study medication (already approved by the health authority) called Dupilumab is an injectable medication as opposed to the most commonly used Asthma medications which are inhalers. This study will also evaluate if the study medication helps to improve the way patients feel, their level of activity and breathe, which may potentially reduce the need for rescue or reliever medications. Patients on this study will receive either Dupilumab or placebo. Placebo is an inactive solution that does not contain medication. Study medications and/or placebo will be injected under the skin (“subcutaneously”) once every 2 weeks. You have a 1 in 3 (or 33%) chance of receiving placebo only, on this study. You will continue taking your usual asthma medication while on the study.
B-cell Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia
A Clinical research trial for patients suffering from Hypogammaglobulinemia and recurrent or severe infections associated with B-cell Chronic lymphocytic leukemia that plans to evaluate the efficacy, safety, and pharmacokinetics of XEMBIFY® plus standard medical treatment compared to participants who are placed on placebo plus standard medical treatment to prevent infections.
